Govt announces €22m laptop scheme for schools

A €22m grant scheme has been announced for the provision of laptops and projectors in primary schools.

Education Minister Batt O'Keefe said more than 3,000 schools will benefit from the funding.

The grants will range from just under €2,000 per school, up to a maximum of €33,000.

Mr O'Keefe said this is the first in the roll-out of the €150m 'smart schools' programme.
