SIPTU head fears worst for the country

The President of the largest trade union SIPTU has said he genuinely fears the Government is pushing the country into a severe depression.

Jack O'Connor was speaking after the Finance Minister Brian Lenihan said in the Budget this week that the worst was over.

Mr O'Connor said making severe cuts and hoping other economies will lift ours is "dangerous".
