ESB defends flood reaction
The ESB said it was not possible to predict what volumes of water would have to be discharged from the Inniscarra Dam in the hours before Cork city was flooded last month.
The company has again been defending the level of discharge, after it emerged that had initially underestimated the volume of water involved.
The final bill from the damage has ran to millions of euro.
In a statement, the company says it had warned on the evening of November 19 of the danger of "severe flooding", as the amount of water entering Inniscarra lake was the largest seen in modern times.
