Unions are meeting Government officials again today as efforts continue to reach agreement on finding €1.3bn in savings in the public sector pay bill for next year.

Reports this morning say the introduction of a compulsory unpaid leave arrangement for public service workers is being considered as a way to reduce the pay bill without across-the-board pay cuts.
