Lisburn pensioner's home robbed by intruders

Three men robbed an elderly woman in her home after grabbing her on the doorstep and forcing their way in, it was revealed today.

The 77-year-old was confronted by the gang after hearing a knock at the front door of the house in Windsor Avenue, Lisburn, at around 5.15pm yesterday.

One put a hand over her mouth and dragged her into the living room while the other two ransacked rooms.

Police said the raiders smashed the house phone before making off with a small sum of cash, including charitable collections, and bank books.

The pensioner was unhurt but shaken by her ordeal.

The men were described as aged between 25 and 30, over 6ft tall, and wearing light coloured tops and dark woolly hats. All spoke with local accents.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses.
