Garda Commissioner refuses to be drawn on drink-drive limit

Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy has refused to be drawn into the political controversy over whether or not the drink-driving limit should be reduced.

Transport Minister Noel Dempsey wants to cut the limit from 80mg to 50mg per 100ml of blood, but the plan has caused a revolt among Fianna Fáil backbenchers.
