Inflation fall 'no excuse' to cut welfare

The Government should not use the dramatic fall in the cost of living to justify pay or welfare cuts, it was claimed today.

With inflation down 6.5% in the last year Congress chief David Begg warned taking money off workers could put the recession on a deeper downward spiral.
