Education Minister Batt O'Keefe is to establish a quality mark for language schools and colleges of further education.

The initiative, which aims to attract overseas students, requires legislation.

Colleges will need to comply with a code of practice to qualify for inclusion in the scheme.

The standardised regulations mean institutions will have to clearly state entry requirements and show that a certain proportion of international students undertake exams within the advertised timeframe of the courses.
