TDs and Senators may be taxed on expenses

TDs and Senators could see their expenses taxed under reforms mooted by the Commission on Taxation.

The Commission's latest report, which was leaked yesterday, suggests the introduction of a range of new taxes including water charges for all households, a new property tax and a tax on child benefit.
