Policing Board to be asked to endorse station closures
Senior PSNI officers are set to ask the Policing Board this week to endorse the closure and sale of 26 stations across the North.
The police are eventually looking to close more than 40 of the 108 stations in the North on the grounds that they are no longer used or needed.
However, unionists oppose the move, saying it could make it easier for dissident republicans to operate.
The DUP is particularly concerned about Fermanagh, where four of the 26 stations earmarked for closure are located.
The PSNI says the money saved could be used to improve frontline policing.
