Man arrested in Dublin over possession of firearm
A 24-year-old man has been arrested in Dublin for possession of a firearm.
Gardaí stopped and searched the man on Charleville Avenue shortly after 11pm last night.
He was found to have a loaded semi-automatic handgun on him.
He is being questioned at Store Street garda station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and can be held for up to 72 hours.
Gardaí say the arrest was made as part of an on-going operation targeting crime.
