Third-level building projects put out to tender

Education Minister Batt O'Keefe has announced that the first bundle of public-private partnership projects in the third level sector is going to market.

Education Minister Batt O'Keefe has announced that the first bundle of public-private partnership projects in the third level sector is going to market.

The building projects at four higher education institutions have now been put out to tender.

It is hoped almost 5,000 students will use the new facilities, which will include library spaces at Limerick IT, UL and Cork IT as well as a teaching building, a hall and workshops at Dun Laoghaire Institute.

It is expected work on the projects will be completed by 2012.
