Two arrested in connection with Dublin drug seizure

Two men have been arrested in connection with a €600,000 seizure of herbal cannabis in Dublin.

Shortly after 7pm last night, gardaí stopped and searched a truck at Rathcoole in Co Dublin and discovered around 25 kilos of herbal cannabis.

As part of the same operation a van was stopped and searched by gardaí on the N4 near Celbridge in Kildare and a similar quantity of cannabis discovered.

Two men in their 30s were arrested following the seizure.

Both have addresses in Dublin and are being detained at Clondalkin garda station.

The operation was carried out by gardaí from the National Drugs Unit, customs officers and gardaí from Tallaght and Clondalkin drugs units.
