'C Case' rapist jailed for 21 years

The rapist at the centre of the "C Case" in the 1990's has been jailed for 21 years by Mr Justice George Birmingham for raping an 86-year-old woman in her home last year.

Simon McGinley (aged 35), of Latlorcan Court, Monaghan, was found guilty on day nine of his trial in May by a Central Criminal Court jury of raping the elderly woman on June 16, 2008. He had denied the charges.
