Postman shot with air rifle in Dublin

Gardaí in Dublin are investigating an incident in which a postal worker was shot in the back with an air rifle yesterday afternoon.

The attack happened while the postman was making deliveries in the Cloonlara Drive area of Finglas.

The man sustained a minor injury and was taken to hospital.

He has since been discharged, but remains under medical supervision.

Postal services in Cloonlara Drive are understood to have been suspended in the wake of the shooting.
