Union disputes worsen

Two separate union disputes look further away from agreement this evening.

A protest at Dublin Port seemed to worsen this afternoon with reports that the Marine Terminals Limited has taken out an injunction against employees picketing at the company.

SIPTU says that it has not been informed of the injunction and accused the company of engaging in a "campaign of misinformation".

SIPTU claims that existing employees of the company have been told that they must sign new contracts which include pay cuts, in order to keep their jobs.

Separate talks between SIPTU representatives and Bus Eireann bosses today also ended with little progress made.
