A date has been set by the Central Criminal Court for the trial of a 29-year-old man accused of murdering Limerick rugby player Shane Geoghegan.

A date has been set by the Central Criminal Court for the trial of a 29-year-old man accused of murdering Limerick rugby player Shane Geoghegan.

Barry Doyle, originally from Portland Row in Dublin, but with an address at Hyde Road in Limerick, will be tried on April 19, 2010.

He is accused of murdering Shane Geoghegan at Kilteragh, Dooradoyle, Limerick, on November 9, 2008.

Mr Geoghegan (28) was shot while walking home after watching an international rugby match with friends.
