The plight of Our Lady's Children's Hospital in Crumlin is back in the spotlight this weekend.

Two major protests are being held against cutbacks which have forced the hospital to close one 25-bed ward and cancel dozens of procedures.

The Oireachtas Health Committee made a special visit to the hospital last week amid growing concern over its budget deficit of nearly €10m.

Parents will stage a silent protest at the Dail at midday, followed by a march outside the hospital at 2pm.
