EC launches new energy awareness website

The European Commission has launched a new web portal at www.buildup.eu to share information on reducing energy use, specifically of buildings.

It aims help anyone from homeowners to builders to cut down on household energy consumption.

European Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs said: "The BUILD UP web portal will let anyone look up and share best practice and information. At the same time, it will inform and update the market about the legislative framework. BUILD UP can be an extremely useful tool to improve building performance".

The content will be regularly updated by users themselves to cover a wide range of good practice in energy reduction and information on legislation.
