Many patients not informed of MRSA infections

The Royal College of Physicians has said as many as one-in-10 patients contract a hospital-acquired infection like MRSA, but many are never informed of the situation.

The Royal College of Physicians has said as many as one-in-10 patients contract a hospital-acquired infection like MRSA, but many are never informed of the situation.

In a paper compiled for healthcare workers, the organisation said it is vital that any patient with MRSA is fully informed about the symptoms and treatment.

It also said all patients should be given an understanding about healthcare-associated infections when they arrive in hospital.
