80,000 phone calls made to Consumer Agency in 2008
The National Consumer Agency received around 80,000 phone calls from people with concerns last year.
This is an increase of almost 15% on 2007 levels, according to the group's annual report.
Research by the organisation shows over half of all consumers changed their shopping habits last year - of those a third have spread their shopping over different supermarkets to get the best value.
It also shows that just under half of shoppers are now using coupons and vouchers for special offers.
