Gardaí seek to interview couple over Galway murder

Gardaí have released CCTV footage of a couple they are looking to speak to in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man in Galway city early yesterday morning.

Kieran Cunningham, from Slieve Finn in Claregalway, was stabbed to death following a night out in the city with a group of friends.

He was attacked in the Williamsgate area at around 2am.

Yesterday, gardaí released a video still of a man and a woman they want to identify in connection with the stabbing.

The man is around 6ft tall, with tightly cut hair, and was wearing blue jeans and a dark blue top with a Sao Paulo 09 logo on the front.

The woman is around 5ft 6ins tall, with dark hair tied back, and was wearing a purple top with black, three-quarter length trousers.

She was also carrying a black shoulder bag.
