Gardaí probe Waterford assault

Gardaí in Waterford are investigating a serious assault on a man in the city in the early hours of this morning.

It happened at around 2 am at an apartment in the Ferrybank area.

Two masked men entered the apartment and attacked the man who's in his early 20s.

He received a number of stab wounds and has been taken to Cork University Hospital where he's said to be in a serious condition.
