The Government is hoping to raise up to €1bn through the sale of bonds to international investors today.

Two bonds, maturing in 2014 and 2019, will be sold by the National Treasury Management Agency.

The move comes as Finance Minister Brian Lenihan continues a tour of European cities aimed at repairing Ireland's damaged reputation among potential investors.
