O’Keeffe accuses Fine Gael of u-turn on special needs
Education Minister Batt O'Keefe says he is taken aback by Fine Gael's stance on special needs education.
O'Keeffe has accused the party of doing a complete u-turn on the issue for petty political reasons.
Fine Gael is calling on the Government to scrap plans to abolish 128 special-needs classes around the country.
The party says more than 500 children will be hit by the €7m savings measure, announced in October’s budget.
But Minister O’Keeffe said Fine Gael's stance lacked credibility.
