Armed raiders rob pub in Co Westmeath

Gardaí are investigating an armed raid on a pub in Co Westmeath overnight.

Two masked men entered the premises in Rathconrath, near Mullingar, just after midnight and tied up a number of people who were there at the time.

They are believed to have been armed with a handgun and a baseball bat.

The raiders escaped with an undisclosed sum of money.
