The governor of the Central Bank is due to be questioned about the banking crisis when he appears today before the Oireachtas Committee on Economic Regulatory Affairs.

John Hurley is expected to face questions in relation to how much he knew about the crisis facing Irish banks.

He will be quizzed by TDs and Senators about the Central Bank's interaction with the Financial Regulator in ensuring the proper supervision of the banks.
