Govt help sought after savings society collapses
Twenty-three former moderators of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland have written to the British and Irish Governments seeking help over a collapsed savings society.
Almost 10,000 people stand to lose most of their life savings after the Presbyterian Mutual Society went into administration.
There was a run on the society last year as people rushed to take their money out after the British Government promised to bail out the country's banks.
The society is now being wound up, but its 9,500 members don't know how much of their life savings will be left.
