'Major' Dublin drug dealer shot dead
A 35-year-old man has died and a second man is in a serious condition following a gangland-style gun attack in Dublin's north inner city last night.
The two men were travelling in a car that was ambushed in the Summerhill area shortly before 9pm.
They are both believed to have been shot in the head.
The man who died was later named as Michael “Roly” Cronin, reportedly a convicted heroin dealer from Finglas described as one of the city's 'major' drugs suppliers. He was said to be deeply involved in a violent gangland feud in the north inner city.
The second man, aged 26, is in a serious condition at St James's Hospital.
Gardaí are also investigating a separate shooting in the Kinsealy area of north Co Dublin in which a man in his 20s was injured in the neck and arm,
The man, who is in a serious but stable condition in hospital, was shot by three men who entered his house in Drynan Drive at around 10.30pm.
His girlfriend and young baby were also in the house at the time, but they were not injured.
