A woman who slipped and injured her knee while mountain climbing in Co. Wicklow has been rescued.

A woman who slipped and injured her knee while mountain climbing in Co. Wicklow has been rescued.

The incident happened on Spink Mountain in Glendalough at around 2pm today.

The Glenn of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team was called to the scene.

They treated the woman for a leg injury and for hypothermia.

Due to the weather conditions, the Coastguard helicopter was not able to airlift her so she was carried off the mountain.

She was later treated in hospital.
