Gardaí release five held over attempted Dublin raid

Gardaí in Dublin have released five people they were questioning in connection with an attempted robbery at a credit union in the south of the city last Friday.

A jeep was rammed into the front door of the premises in Rathfarnam on Friday evening, but the raiders failed to gain access and fled empty-handed.

Four men and a woman were subsequently detained by Gardaí in connection with the matter.

However, all five were freed without charge last night pending instructions from the DPP.
