Man rescued from fishing vessel off Kerry coast
A crew member from a Spanish fishing vessel has been rescued off the Co Kerry coast this morning.
The man, who had a severed fingertip, was aboard the Pilar Roca, 145 miles off Bray Head, Valentia Island.
Valentia Coastguard co-ordinated the operation, which began just after 10pm last night, and ended at 6.30am this morning.
The man was airlifted to Shannon, and was then taken to the Midwestern Regional Hospital in Limerick.
