Tens of thousands of people are expected to take to the streets of Dublin today in protest over Budget cuts in education.

Tens of thousands of people are expected to take to the streets of Dublin today in protest over Budget cuts in education.

All the main teachers' unions are joining forces for today's demonstration, which will pass through the city from Parnell Square to Government Buildings.

It is the culmination of a series of marches staged in Galway, Offaly, Cork and Donegal against the controversial cut-backs in spending.

While the Education Minister has rowed-back on the suspension of substitution cover, Batt O'Keefe said he is not in a position to review the other measures.
