Searches continue following €2m drug seizure in Wicklow

Gardaí will carry out further searches in Co Wicklow today following yesterday's massive drug seizure near Blessington.

Around €2m worth of heroin and cocaine, along with a handgun and a large quantity of ammunition, was discovered when Gardai searched an open area on the outskirts of Russelstown.

A 24-year-old man was arrested and is being questioned at Naas Garda Station under Section Two of the Drug Trafficking Act.

Further searches will be carried out this morning and the gun will be forensically examined.
