Funding cuts hit North's murder investigation unit
The work of a specialist police unit set up to investigate unsolved murders in the North is to be scaled back because of spending cuts.
The unit is investigating more than 3,000 killings during the North's Troubles.
The future of 180 jobs at the Historic Enquiries Team is also under threat after the withdrawal of £2.2m (€2.56m) in British government funding.
The Northern Ireland Office has been urged to reconsider the withdrawal and a decision is expected next week.
