Ryan: We need to use Irish fuels
The Energy Minister Eamon Ryan's has said that fuel price hikes wouldn't be such a problem if we utilised Irish fuel supplies.
Minister Ryan's comments follow applications to the Energy Regulator by the ESB and Bord Gáis for price increases of 6% and 4% respectively.
The minister was in Kilkenny earlier today, at the official opening of the country's first large-scale wood pellet manufacturing plant.
Mr Ryan said that we need to rely less on international fuels.
