IBEC calls for crisis summit among social partners

The employers' body IBEC is calling for a national summit of the social partners to discuss ways to protect the Irish economy amid the current downturn.

Yesterday, Finance Minister Brian Lenihan said further cutbacks may be on the way next year to keep the national debt at acceptable levels.
