FÁS predicts unemployment could hit 8% next year

The Irish unemployment rate could hit 8% by the end of next year, according to the latest quarterly commentary from FÁS.

The State's training agency says it expects the number of people in full-time employment to fall by 3.8% in 2009, with almost one fifth of construction workers expected to lose their jobs.
