SIPTU in talks with Wyeth Medica over job cuts
SIPTU representatives at Wyeth Medica in Kildare are meeting with management this afternoon to discuss proposed job losses.
The company has announced it is looking to shed 250 jobs at its Newbridge plant because of lower production volumes and the need to reduce costs.
Meanwhile, Waterford Crystal has told staff that 280 redundancies are being sought from its plant in Kilbarry.
It's the second lot of job losses at the company in the past year.
Employees there will meet with management on Thursday.
