Two held over discovery of sawn-off shotgun in Limerick
Two men are in Garda custody following the discovery of a loaded sawn-off shotgun in Limerick city last night.
The gun was found in an area of open ground after Gardaí noticed suspicious activity on the Greenhills Road in Garryowen.
Shotgun cartridges were discovered during a follow-up search of a vehicle and two men, aged 19 and 25, were arrested.
Gardaí are linking the find to gangland activity.
