Gardaí investigate fatal shooting in Dublin

A murder investigation is underway in west Dublin this morning after a man in his late 20s was shot dead.

This shooting happened just before midnight at Woodavens Estate in Ronanstown.

Gardaí were called to the scene where they found the young man with gunshot wounds.

They requested medical attention and the man was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor.

This morning his body remains at the scene in Ronanstown.

It has been sealed off and the services of the state pathologist have been requested.
