Over 20,000 people are expected to climb Croagh Patrick today.

The annual pilgrimage to the summit will see mass being televised live for the first time ever.

The main service will be celebrated by the Archbishop of Tuam Dr Michael Neary at 11am this morning.

A number of other masses are being held before and after.

Climbers are advised to wear proper clothing and bring plenty of water and a stick.
