Irishman found dead beneath bridge in Alaska

Police in the US are investigating the death of an Irishman whose body was found beneath a bridge in the state of Alaska last week.

Thirty-six-year-old Edward Byrnes, a native of Limerick, was found dead in the city of Anchorage last Friday.

He is believed to have fallen to his death from the bridge

Mr Byrnes was a member of the US army and had recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq.

Local police say they are still investigating the death and are looking for witnesses who may have seen him on the bridge.
