Health unions seek more protection for hospital staff

Unions representing health workers are calling for more protection for hospital staff following figures showing that just 2% of attacks on nurses and doctors are reported to the Gardaí.

Information from 12 hospitals outside Dublin show that the Gardaí were alerted in just 14 of 589 attacks last year.
