Fishermen continue blockades in Cork and Waterford
Fishermen are continuing a series of protests around the country today to highlight issues they say are destroying the fishing industry.
They are continuing to blockade Cork and Waterford Ports, preventing fishing vessels from delivering their cargo.
The fishermen are also planning protests in Dublin Bay today, but it is unclear if the action will disrupt activity at Dublin Port.
The blockades have been mounted to highlight rising fuel costs, competition from cheap imports and the effects of EU fishing quotas.
They have not been sanctioned by the Federation of Irish Fishermen, which is due to hold talks with Fisheries Minister Tony Killeen on Friday to discuss the problems facing the industry.
