FF not fazed by surge in No vote

The Minister for European Affairs said today that Fianna Fáil is not fazed by the today's opinion poll showing a huge surge of opposition to the Lisbon Treaty.

The poll shows that the No vote has doubled to 35%, while the Yes camp has seen its support fall to 30%.

Minister Dick Roche says the result means the Government will have to step up its campaign to secure a Yes vote, but Fianna Fáil is up to the challenge.

Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams, meanwhile, has welcomed the poll, saying the figures are encouraging for those who want the Government to negotiate a better treaty.
