Gardaí in Limerick have arrested a woman in her late 40s in connection with a serious assault in the city last week.

Gardaí in Limerick have arrested a woman in her late 40s in connection with a serious assault in the city last week.

The woman is being questioned about an attack on a 41-year-old man at Convent Street last Wednesday night.

The victim was discovered unconscious with head wounds and rushed to the Midwestern Regional Hospital before being transferred to Cork University Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
