The man jailed for the murder of Co Waterford mother of two Mary “Mamie” Walsh has failed in his bid to have his conviction referred to the Supreme Court.

Today the Court of Criminal Appeal comprising of Mr Justice Adrian Hardiman presiding, sitting with Mr Justice Eamonn DeValera and Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy dismissed Jennings application to bring a Section 29 application - a point of law of exceptional public importance - to the Supreme Court.
