Work continues to remove medical files from Cork dump
Work is continuing in Cork today to remove hundreds of confidential medical files from a former landfill site near the city.
The documents, dating back to the 1970s and 1980s, were discovered earlier this week during excavation work ahead of the reopening of the Cork-Midleton rail line.
The HSE plans to remove the files and transfer them to a secure location in Waterford.
It is also vowing to contact all the affected patients in the coming months.
An information line has been set up for concerned members of the public (1850 742 000).
