A teenage passenger in a stolen car that twice rammed a patrol car during a high speed chase putting gardaí "in fear of their lives" and caused €25,000 in damage has been sentenced to nine months detention.

The 17-year-old, who can not be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to unlawful carriage in a stolen car on November 29, 2006.
